JUST IN!!!!!!
According to Representative Corey Mock (D, Grand Forks) The Governor has signed House Bill 1252, (The North Dakota Yield) into Law!!!!
Absolutely amazing!
This law did not come into being overnight. This has been a long time coming. The great work of municipalities to develop downtowns that make bicycling a sensible alternative to using an automobile and advocates that have been developing conversations around more equitable roadway networks and laws have brought the codification of a common sense activity.
Thank you to the North Dakota Department of Transportation for its forward -thinking efforts to make roadway design and roadway laws more equitable for bicyclists. A big thank you to advocates who have made efforts in past legislative sessions to increase the sensibility of roadway laws in North Dakota.
A big thank you to Representative Corey Mock (D, Grand Forks) for his efforts to make bicycling a more normal activity in North Dakota as well as James Wilson, Executive Director of Bike Delaware for providing insight into the Delaware Yield law which made concerns that the North Dakota Department of Transportation had diminish significantly.
The future of transportation in North Dakota is bright!!!
